Michael Aram Lodhi Garden Gooseberry Bowl

The Michael Aram Lodhi Garden Gooseberry Bowl is a distinctive serving piece from the Lodhi Garden Collection—a line that interprets the ephemeral nature of the natural world, the life cycle of leaves, and their transformation over time through a sculptural lens.

The collection draws inspiration from the morning walks Michael Aram would take in Lodhi Garden, located near his home in New Delhi. During these strolls, he observed and collected various leaf forms, translating these natural details into the core design language of the collection. The contrasting textures on the leaf surfaces symbolize the life cycle of a leaf and its evolution over time, while the hammered brass stem details reflect Aram’s signature approach of combining different metals and highlighting exquisite craftsmanship.

For Michael Aram, nature serves as a powerful source of inspiration, connecting to various moments in time, people, and memories. The Lodhi Garden Collection is rooted in this perspective, serving as a poignant reminder of the value and transience of life. Each piece is designed not merely as an everyday object, but as an artistic interpretation of a form borrowed from nature.

The contrast between the hand-textured stainless steel body and the natural brass stem lends the bowl a character that is both contemporary and organic. With its generous capacity, it is ideal for serving fruit, salads, or other refreshments, while also functioning beautifully as a decorative centerpiece on a table or console.
