Atila Çakır Etyal Elephant Decorative Object, Small

Etyal, a symbol of power, abundance, and wisdom, is a unique work of art brought to life through the original interpretation of ceramic artist Atila Çakır.

Each Etyal piece is produced entirely by hand using the Raku technique, one of the most distinctive practices of traditional Japanese ceramic art. After being fired in kilns at temperatures of approximately 950–1000°C, the pieces undergo the Raku technique’s distinctive processes of rapid cooling and reduction. The marks left on the ceramic surface by fire, smoke, and minerals create unique color transitions, metallic reflections, and natural patterns.

Artist Atila Çakır interprets the elephant figure not merely as a decorative form, but as a timeless symbol representing durability, protection, and the abundance of life. The harmony of turquoise, copper, red, yellow, and earth tones on the ceramic gives each Etyal piece its own distinctive character.

The Etyal you choose embodies the character of the colors and forms shown in the images. However, due to the entirely handmade Raku production process, the flow of the glaze and the natural effects that form on the surface create unique details in each piece. This characteristic transforms every Etyal into a one-of-a-kind collectible.

Etyal is not merely a decorative object; it is a unique work of art that symbolizes strength, abundance, and good fortune, bearing the traces of both fire and the artist.
